06 — Production takeover

Mold transfer and injection molding production takeover

You already own an injection mold and are looking for a new production partner? Dinamic SRL can assess the existing mold, verify compatibility with the available equipment, carry out the required mechanical work and prepare the process for restarting series production.

When does a mold transfer make sense?

  • Changing your injection molding supplier
  • Relocating production to a closer or more flexible partner
  • Restarting production of an existing product after a pause
  • The mold needs maintenance or repair
  • Process optimisation before a new production run
  • Moving production to a supplier with its own mechanical workshop

How we handle the transfer

A mold transfer is essentially an engineering project: the technical data is verified before anything is moved physically, and series production only restarts after validated trial runs.

Step 01

Technical data review

We request the part drawing, the 3D model if available, the material, the mold data and dimensions, its weight, the estimated annual volume and any information about the existing process.

Step 02

Compatibility check

The mold is assessed against available platen dimensions, the required clamping force, shot volume and weight, cooling systems, connections and process requirements.

Step 03

Mold inspection

We check the overall mechanical condition, wear, moving elements, guides, active surfaces, cooling circuits and the ejection system, then define any work required.

Step 04

Maintenance and repairs

If work is required, it is carried out in our own mechanical workshop — the advantage of having mold maintenance and repair under the same roof as injection molding.

Step 05

Trial runs and process setup

We install the mold, run technological trials, set the process parameters, inspect parts dimensionally and visually, and optimise before the series is released.

Step 06

Series production

Series production, in-process quality control and documentation according to the requirements agreed with the customer.

Why Dinamic?

We have been producing custom plastic parts since 1991 and build molds in-house — from design through to precision machining.

Mold compatibility is always confirmed on the basis of its actual technical data.

What information do we need for an assessment?

The more complete the documentation, the faster and more accurate the assessment. Missing documents do not block the request — we can start with what exists and ask for clarifications later.

Frequently asked questions about compatibility, materials and lead times are answered in the Technical & Commercial FAQ.
